No records of the early history of Delhi before the Muslim conquest of 1613 AD. Even then it is a fact that the history of Delhi begins from the time of the Pandavas. Yudhishtra founded a beautiful city on a barren land and called Indraprastha because it was so beautiful as the abode of the king of the gods "Indra", which is now Old Fort.
In fact, Delhi's strategic position is so strong that makes the key of power and wealth in the subcontinent. It was on the verge of life that gives Yamuna, Ganges River tributary of the great mother. Here in the fertile flat plain, almost all triumphant conqueror defeated and razed the city to build a new one, often named after him. The site has eight major cities (plus many smaller strengths), building energy burst by powerful rulers eager to be remembered by posterity. However, only two cities still alive.
Anangpal who ruled from 663 AD to 681 AD and rebuilt Anangpal II Delhi Delhi made its capital in its own right in 1051 AD. The Lal Kot and inscriptions on the Pillar of Iron are the monuments of his time. The other strong Hindu Pithora Rai built by Prithvi Raj Chauhan in near about 1180. The end of the 12th century saw the replacement of the Hindu ruler of Muslim domination. AD In 1250, Qutub-ud-Din proclaimed himself the first emperor of the dynasty of the slaves who built several mosques in the materials and places of Hindu temples.
