
Nizamuddin Dargah Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya or devotes Nizam-ud-Din, a revered Sufi saint. During the life of the saint, a solution developed here, still inhabited and known by the name of Nizamuddin. Hazrat Nizam-ud-Din Auliya Dargah of Amir Khusrau Delhi also buried, poet and favorite disciple of the saint. The dredger was built by Muhammad Tughluq and is one of the most revered pilgrimages of Muslims. Other tombs embodied in the Delhi Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah awliya are those of Jahan Ara Begum, the daughter of Shah Jahan and Mirza Ghalib, a distinguished poet.
Surrounded by a series of tombs, this Dargah is built on top of a tank. There is a legend attached to the Nizamuddin Dargah. It is believed that there was a discussion among the leaders of Tughluqabad and holy in the construction of this tank. The saint, in anger, cursed the leaders who Tughluqabad city will never prosper and so it happened. After its initial construction, the Dargah was subjected to a series of renovations and reconstructions. The present mausoleum built by Faridu'n Khan goes back to the years 1562-1563. Qawwali singers act Hazrat Nizam-ud-Din Auliya Dargah of Delhi in the evening after the evening prayer.
The square chamber of the Dargah is adorned with balconies and arched doorways. vaulted ceiling of the building has vertical stripes of black marble and topped by a lotus cresting. Even around the tomb is considered sacred. Many Muslims, including the royal family were buried here. The race for the Dargah is exceptionally strong during Id and Urs fair twice a year. Urs fair is held twice a year n the death anniversaries of Hazrat Nizam-ud-Din Auliya and Amir Khusrau. There are a number of monuments in New Delhi Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah awliya including Jama'at-Khana Masjid, Chini Ka Burj (mosque), the tombs of Muhammad Shah and Mirza Jahangir, Kali-o-Kalan Masjid, etc.
